The project was officially launched in Septembre 2023, and partners met in Madrid in November 2023 to set the basis for the cooperation and start working on the project.

A theoretical framework has been developed to examine the perceptions and impact of international mobility on students’ career paths, taking into account both the supply and demand sides of the labour market. This study analyses the differences in educational and labour policies related to international mobility in Spain, France and Croatia. In doing so, this analysis contributes to the personal and professional development of students, increasing their readiness to face the competitive challenges of today’s globalised market.

Each partner organisation conducted a focus group with several students to explore the participants’ experiences and perception of international mobility, these programmes offering them the opportunity to study, train, gain work experience and volunteer abroad, thereby fostering the acquisition of a wide range of competences that are key to entering the labour market.

In-depth interviews were conducted with students, employment stakeholders and recruiters in France, Croatia, Spain and at European level to analyse the gap between students’ self-perception of the benefits of international mobility and employment stakeholders’ perceptions of these benefits. The case study report analyses the main findings of the interviews and the recommendations made by recruiters to bridge the gap between the skills developed by students and the needs of the labour market.
